Transportation of human remains, urns with ashes, animal remains
The airline does not transport human remains (coffins with human remains, urns with ashes, as well as animal remains in boxes) in hand luggage and passenger baggage, transportation is carried out only as cargo.
To transport human remains on Airline flights, the passenger must contact to the Airline's sales agents cargo transportation and provide the relevant documents.
To transport human remains, the following documents must be provided:
Non-cremated remains:
- Death certificate;
- Certificate of the absence of extraneous attachments;
- Certificate of absence of infectious diseases or permission from state consumer supervision authorities or other government agencies to transport the body;
- Certificate of embalming.
Depending on the route of transportation and the cause of death (criminal case), additional documents may be required. The freight agent will bring this information to the sender of the remains. When imported from abroad, all documents must be translated into Armenian.
Cremated remains (urn with ashes):
- Death certificate;
- Cremation certificate;
- Certificate of the absence of extraneous attachments.
Documents for the transportation of human remains must comply with the requirements of the Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union.
In some countries, the participation of an authorized agent (funeral services bureau) is required to receive goods of the HUM/ASH category. In order to avoid delays in the registration and delivery of goods of these categories, the recipient is recommended to clarify in advance the rules for receiving cargo at the arrival airport.
