Children transportation
Children aged 2 to 12 years can be transported accompanied by an adult passenger, or a passenger who is in in accordance with the civil legislation of the Republic of Armenia, acquired full legal capacity before reaching the age of eighteen, or unaccompanied by these passengers under the supervision of the carrier.
A passenger traveling with a child is allowed to carry a baby carriage in addition to the free baggage allowance, provided that it is used by the passenger (it must not be in the original packaging). A baby carriage is carried in the baggage compartment of the aircraft as checked baggage. The passenger can use the wheelchair only before boarding the aircraft. The stroller is necessarily transferred for loading into the luggage compartment immediately before boarding the passenger with the child on board the aircraft.
It is forbidden to place passengers with children under the age of 18 in places near emergency exits.
A child under 2 years old without providing a seat in the aircraft cabin is counted in the LOADSHEET and included in the total number passengers. Opposite to the name of the passenger who arranged the transportation of a child under the age of 2 years in the passenger manifest the SSR code INT is indicated (the name of the child is not indicated in the shipping documentation).
Passengers with children under 2 years old
It is forbidden to place two children on the same chair.
For safety reasons, to provide an oxygen mask in case of depressurization of the passenger compartment, it is allowed accommodation of no more than one child under the age of 2 years traveling without a separate seat in one block of seats on board the aircraft.
By prior request, a child can be provided with baby food up to 2 years old (BBML). In the absence of a preliminary request through booking, a child under 2 years of age is not provided with meals on board the aircraft.
By prior request, children under one year old can be provided with a baby cradle on board the aircraft (if there are fasteners for its installation). The baby cradle (BSCT-Bassinet /carrycot / baby basket) is designed for a child under the age of 1 year and weighing no more than 11 kg.
On the aircraft, infants are placed in the arms of escorted persons during the entire flight.
It is forbidden to place children in one block of seats without an adult.
Newborn babies
Newborn children are accepted for transportation by air, according to the recommendations of doctors, at the age of seven and more than days.
Transportation of prematurely born children is carried out only if there is a medical certificate confirming, that air transportation is safe for the child.
Children groups transportation
Transportation of passengers under the age of 18 in the number of 20 children or more is the transportation of a group of children.
It is forbidden to place passengers under the age of 18 in places near emergency exits.
The number of accompanying persons must be at least one adult per 30 children. The number of accompanying persons may be revised in agreement with the carrier.
Group transportation of children is carried out under the supervision of the group leaders (accompanying person). The senior flight attendant must explain to the head of the group the rules of accommodation, behavior of children on board.
In case of failure situations (delayed departure of the aircraft, landing at an alternate airfield), entailing a change in the schedule and route of movement, the senior responsible person from among the accompanying persons ensures that measures are taken to notify the parents (legal representatives) of the children in a timely manner.
A pregnant woman should determine for herself the possibility of using air transport, based on her state of health.
Transportation of pregnant women is carried out on the condition that Armenian Airlines does not bear any responsibility to the passenger for the adverse consequences that may arise for the passenger and the fetus during transportation anad as a result of transportation.
Pregnant women, especially in the last 4 weeks of pregnancy (in the last 8 weeks for multiple pregnancies) and during the first 7 days after delivery, it is advisable to have a doctor's certificate confirming the satisfactory state of health of the pregnant woman after the 28th week of pregnancy or in case of pregnancy pathology.
For safety reasons, it is prohibited to place pregnant women at emergency exits.
Cabin crew members are advised to tactfully find out from a pregnant woman information about her health.
In case of premature birth of a woman, cabin crew members provide assistance.
Age restrictions
As unaccompanied children, children who are traveling without parents and are not entrusted to any of the passengers at the age of:- Domestic and international flights: from 5 to 12 years.
The total number of unaccompanied children is no more than three on one flight.
At the request of parents/guardians (legal representatives) transportation of unaccompanied children with the consent of Armenian Airlines can be provided to children from 12 to 16 years old.
Children under the age of 5 are not accepted for transportation as unaccompanied children.
Conditions of unaccompanied children transportation
A child is accepted for transportation without accompanied by an adult passenger at the presence of:
- confirmed booking;
- identity document: birth certificate – for children under 14 years old / passport – for children over 14 years old; international passport for transportation;
- issued by a parent, guardian (legal representative) "Agreement for the carriage of an unaccompanied child" – issued by the carrier's representative (agent) at the departure airport 3 hours before the scheduled departure of the flight;
- a notarized consent from parents (legal representatives) to permit the carriage of their child on an unaccompanied carrier's international flight, indicating the date of departure and the state he intends to visit (for international transportation);
- medical certificate of the child's health status (if necessary).
Transportation of unaccompanied children is carried out only:
- To airports where there are representatives of the carrier or agents;
- On direct flights of the carrier, to the first point of embarkation;
- If the child will be met at the arrival airport;
- Transportation of unaccompanied children is carried out only in economy class by issuing a ticket at an affordable rate of any brand (without applying a child discount) and paying an additional fee for the transportation of an unaccompanied child.
Seats in the aircraft cabin for unaccompanied children
Seats in the aircraft cabin for unaccompanied children are determined taking into account the following requirements:
- seating at emergency exits is prohibited;
- availability of emergency rescue equipment;
- opportunities for observation and care during the flight by a senior flight attendant;
- it is forbidden to provide a seat next to an adult male passenger.
If there are two unaccompanied children traveling together on board the aircraft, it is necessary, if possible, to provide them with seats next to each other.
Online registration for unaccompanied children on the airline's website impossible.
The accompanying child must remain at the departure airport until the actual departure of the aircraft.

Refund of the service "Transportation of an unaccompanied child":
- more than 4 hours before the flight departure - allowed;
- from 4 hours or less before the departure of the flight – the refund is allowed only at the same time as the refusal of transportation, or is made in a claim procedure.
